Berklee Alumni Nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards

The Latin Recording Academy announced the nominations for the 26th annual Latin Grammy Awards on September 17, with 14 Berklee alumni receiving 19 nominations across 12 categories, including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Song, Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album, and Best Engineered Album. The biggest night in Latin music will take place Thursday, November 13, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The three-hour telecast, produced by TelevisaUnivision, will air on the network’s US platforms beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Saxophonist and composer Miguel Zenón ’98 was nominated for his ninth Latin Grammy in the category of Best Latin Jazz/Jazz Album for Golden City. Two-time Latin Grammy winner Lewis Pickett BM ’09 is nominated in three categories this year for his work as a mixer and mastering engineer in the categories of Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Engineered Album. Artist and songwriter Nicole Zignago BM ’20 earned her fourth nomination in the Best Pop Song category for “Te Quiero.”

Eleven-time Latin Grammy–winning Argentinean musician Fito Paéz, who was recently a visiting artist with Berklee's Mediterranean Music Institute (MMI), earned two nominations for his groundbreaking cinematic opera album, Novela, including Best Rock Album and Best Rock Song for “Sale el Sol.”
