The free concert, part of Brass Festival Weekend, is the first Center Stage performance of the fall semester.

September 10, 2025

Boston Conservatory at Berklee will begin its fall Center Stage season with a free, seasonal celebration at Boston Conservatory Theater on Saturday, September 20 at 8:00 p.m. As the cornerstone performance of the 2025 Brass Festival Weekend, Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble—Autumn Walk features works that encourage the audience to take a moment and appreciate the beauty that autumn brings, with pieces by Kevin Charoensri, Alexandre Kosmicki, and Julian Work as well as David Maslanka’s monumental Symphony No. 7.

Boston Conservatory is honored to share the stage with the Belmont High School Wind Ensemble, playing side-by-side for a portion of the performance. The concert will also feature a special encore presentation with Brass Festival Weekend guest artist Adam Unsworth, principal horn of the Ann Arbor Symphony.

“I am quite excited to kick off the Center Stage season with Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble in this beautiful nod to the glory of the fall season in New England,” said Matthew M. Marsit, conductor and chair of instrumental studies for Boston Conservatory at Berklee. “Furthermore, being part of the 2025 Brass Festival Weekend helps to elevate this experience for our world-class students by featuring festival guest artist Adam Unsworth and including a special side-by-side performance with the Belmont High School Wind Ensemble. In this one reflective performance, we bring together three generations of performers on one stage: professional, pre-professional, and pre-conservatory.”

Boston Conservatory’s Brass Festival Weekend, September 20 and 21, is a free, two-day celebration of musical artistry and creativity for brass musicians and music lovers. The weekend features master classes, presentations by internationally recognized guest artists Unsworth,  Caleb Hudson, and Hilary Simms alongside Boston Conservatory at Berklee faculty members, and several performances—including Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble’s Autumn Walk.

Brass Festival Weekend: Boston Conservatory Wind Ensemble—Autumn Walk will take place at Boston Conservatory Theater, located at 31 Hemenway Street in Boston, Massachusetts on Saturday, September 20. The event is free and open to the public; the performance will also be livestreamed. Seats are available on a first come, first served basis.
